This article is for administrators in MyMurphy. When you add a new user, you are responsible for making sure they know what happens next. Use the welcome message in this article so that the user gets into the platform and gets a good start.

Step 1: Add the user

  1. Add the user by following the article Add and edit users.
  2. Check that the email address is correct, because the login details are sent there.

Step 2: Send the welcome message

Send the message below to the user as soon as they have been added. Replace the text in square brackets.

Welcome message template (copy and send)

Hi [first name],

You have now been added as a user in MyMurphy, the platform we use for crisis management and crisis leadership at [organization]. You are part of [crisis management organization / group].

Step 3: Follow up

A few days later, check the user list to see whether the user has logged in. If not, remind them to check their spam folder and to click the link in the login email. If they have forgotten their password, direct them to Forgot password.

Other: the welcome email has not arrived

If several users have not received the welcome email from MyMurphy, the emails are most likely being filtered as spam or junk. Check the spam folder first. If the emails are not there, the sender must be whitelisted by the customer's IT organization. For instructions, see Whitelist MyMurphy emails so they reach your inbox.

  • If you are the system owner for your organization, contact your IT organization and ask them to whitelist the domain murphysolution.com.
  • If you are an administrator but not the system owner, contact your system owner and ask them to pass this on to the IT organization so that the domain murphysolution.com is whitelisted.

This is critical. Alerts sent by email can also be filtered as spam or never reach the recipient. Without whitelisting, users may miss their login details and crisis alerts when it matters most.
